Inspired by Juno, unknown artist, 1st-2nd century BCE, from the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston

This year we launched Fleurs de Villes ARTISTE – a fresh floral celebration of art and artists from across all forms. Local floral artists from 10 cities across Canada, United States and Scotland drew inspiration from paintings, sculpture, literature, and more, to create truly unique floral masterpieces. Whether partnering with a local arts institution, like at our Dallas and Edinburgh shows, or taking inspiration from an across an artist's body of work, local florists made each show a unique experience from city to city.

1. Elsa Schiaparelli mannequin by Jassi & Co Creative, Bal Harbour
Most Creative Award, Bal Harbour Shops

INSPIRED BY: Italian-born designer Elsa Schiaparelli's surrealist approach to fashion inspired Jassi & Co to create this bold and sculptural look, in a signature "Shocking Pink".

2. Winged Victory at Samothrace mannequin by Wild Wreath Designs, Vancouver
Most Realistic Award, Van Dusen Botanical Garden

INSPIRED BY: Depicting the Greek goddess of Victory, this 2000 year old statue was discovered on the remote island of Samothrace. Wild Wreath Designs took a monochromatic palette and added texture light to this dramatic and dynamic sculpture.

3. The Cliburn mannequin by Kate McLeod Studio, Dallas
Best in Show Award, NorthPark Center

INSPIRED BY: The Cliburn Competition was established in Fort Worth Texas in 1962, and remains one the preeminent music contests in the world. Kate McLeod Studio looked to the competitions official artwork to inform the colour palette of the pianist's bold dress.

4. Autoportrait ou Simone Mary Bouchard mannequin by Fierbourg, Québec City
Most Creative + Fan Favourite Awards, Place Ste-Foy

INSPIRED BY: In partnership with the Musee national des beaux-arts du Quebec (MNBAQ), Fierbourg was tasked with recreating this self-portrait by Canadian painter Simone Mary Bouchard. Fierbourg meticulously crafted the 1940s fashion and accessories, with rich blooms highlighting the deep colours of the original painting.

5. Billy Connolly mannequin by Bonnie Bunches, Edinburgh
Best in Show Award, Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh

INSPIRED BY: The Glasgow-born Sir Billy Connolly is a beloved comedian, musician, actor and a cultural icon in Scotland and beyond. This joyful design, in partnership with the Edinburgh Playhouse, was inspired by his quirky, offbeat comedic style and iconic banana boots, and featured florals such as roses, delphiniums, amaranthus, thistles, billy buttons and strawflowers.

6. Dali Lady Butterfly mannequin by Bonne Fleurs, Costa Mesa
Fan Favourite Award, South Coast Plaza

INSPIRED BY: Salvador Dali, known for his provoking Surrealist paintings, explored the realm of the fantastical and dreamlike. Here, Bonne Fleurs used bright pops of colour to enhance the watercolour palette of Dali's original Woman with a Butterfly painting.

7. Zelda Fitzgerald mannequin by Rosy Flowers & Tea, Bal Harbour
Most Realistic Award, Bal Harbour Shops

INSPIRED BY: An icon of the Jazz Age, and the rumoured inspiration for the character of Daisy Buchanan in her husband's novel The Great Gatsby, Zelda Fitzgerald inspired this flapper mannequin complete with a fern-covered gramophone.

8. Women in a Garden mannequins by Vogue Weddings & Decor, Toronto
Best in Show Award, Bloor-Yorkville

INSPIRED BY: Vogue Weddings & Decor took on the challenge of designed an entire scene inspired by this impressionist painting by Claude Monet. With detailed weaving of leaves and bark, the serene moment in time invites us to step right into a Parisian garden.

9. Queen Elizabeth I mannequin by Manites Flower Shop, Vancouver
Fan Favourite Award, Van Dusen Botanical Garden

INSPIRED BY: England's Tudor queen has been depicted in countless paintings duringher lifetime and beyond. For this floral gown, Manites Flower Shop looked to a more recent depiction, referencing a look worn by Cate Blanchett in the 1998 film Elizabeth.

10. Ballet Folklorico mannequin by Concepto, Dallas
Most Realistic + Florist Favourite Award, NorthPark Center

INSPIRED BY: Founded in 1975 by Dallas' first Hispanic City councilwoman, the Anita N. Martinez Ballet Folklorico aims to foster cultural pride and self-esteem through traditional dance forms of Mexico. Concepto drew from traditional and modern costuming for this dazzling floral mannequin.

11. Woman in a Fur Hat mannequin by King Farm, Boston
Best in Show + Florist Favourite + Fan Favourite Awards, Prudential Center

INSPIRED BY: Gretchen Woodman Rogers's Woman in a Fur Hat, is believed to depict the artist herself. King Farm uses succulents, seed pods and bunny tails to depict the variety of textures and materials that the Boston-born artist renders so beautifully in her painting.

12. Art Nouveau mannequin by Arbutus Florist, Vancouver
Most Creative + Florist Favourite Award, Van Dusen Botanical Garden

INSPIRED BY: Tasked with representing the Art Nouveau movement, Arbutus Florist looked to the rich golden-yellow works of Gustav Kilmt for inspiration, creating this meticulously-crafted piece.

13. Madame François Poulin de Courval mannequin by A Fleurs de Pot, Québec City
Florist Favourite Award, Place Ste-Foy

INSPIRED BY: In this painting held from the MNBAQ's collections, the subject is in mourning. A Fleurs de Pot took the somber, well-dressed character of this piece and used cordyline, rose, carnation and pampas grass to add texture and enhance the storytelling of this portait.

14. Symphony mannequin by Blooming Events, Chicago
Fan Favourite Award, 900 North Michigan Shops

INSPIRED BY: Tasked with representing the form of Symphony, Blooming Events took inspiration from Antonio Vivaldi's iconic violin concerto series, The Four Seasons. This floral mannequin depicted the essence of each season using colour: dried greens and branches for fall, white blooms for winter, green amaranthus for the budding of spring, and vibrant rose blooms for summer.

15. Impressionism mannequin by Kara Nash Designs, Atlanta
Best in Show + Fan Favourite + Florist Favourite Awards, Phipps Plaza

INSPIRED BY: Inspired by Impressionist painters Monet, Manet, and Morisot, this design captured the movement's whimsical and romantic spirit, exploring dappled light and a dreamy palette, with rose petals on the jacket and a full skirt blending into "en plain air" surroundings.
